Roberta Atwood, age 88, of Ripley, OH, formerly of Liberty, KY, passed away on Wednesday February 24th, 2016 at the Ohio Valley Manor in Ripley, OH. She was born in Casey Co., KY on June 8th, 1927 to the late Luther and Maud Ella Allen Witt.
Roberta was united in marriage to Lucian Eldridge Atwood on July 15th, 1944.
Roberta was a former employee of The Village Restaurant and Liberty Sportswear and a member of Green River Valley Separate Baptist Church.
Survivors include: One Daughter: Linda Sue and (Herman Dewayne) Atwood of Norwood, OH, Son in law: Dale Herren of Williamsburg, OH, Five Grandchildren: Jeff, Mark and Corey Herren, Lisa Dodds and Beverly Hacker, Twelve Great Grandchildren, Two Great Great Grandchildren, One Sister: Edith Taylor of Illinois and One Brother: Wallace Witt of Somerset, KY.
Preceding her in death was her Spouse: Lucian Eldridge Atwood who passed away on November 5th, 1991, One Daughter: Betty Jean Herren, One Grandchild: Paula Atwood Sluder, Three Sisters: Opal Helm, Lela and Mary Witt and Four Brothers: Paul, Howard and James Witt and Luther Witt Jr.
Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. Saturday February 27th, 2016 Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Sunday February 28th, 2016 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Casey Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Green River Valley Cemetery.
