Mabel June Lane of Liberty passed away Monday, August 31, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was 92.

Born May 31, 1934, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late John and Nettie Woodrum Wethington. She was the widow of Wayne Lane, who died September 15, 1997.

Mabel was a former employee of Liberty Sportswear and OshKosh B'Gosh. She also worked for Green Thumb Inc., serving at the Gathering Place in Liberty for many years, as well as the Casey County Senior Citizens Center.

In her later years, most of her days were spent at the senior citizens center where she enjoyed socializing with all her friends, who were like family to her. She was a member of Clearview Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Terri Lee of Liberty, Kimberly Woodrum (and Steve Pennington) of Hustonville, and Angela Foley (and Kevin) of Liberty; six grandchildren, Jason Woodrum, Stacey Spencer, Jamie Dial, A.J. Garrett, Jenna Masterson, and Lucas Foley; nine great-grandchildren, Brennan Garrett, Dylan Garrett, Weston Garrett, Finn Masterson, Callum Masterson,  Rhettison Woodrum, Niahm Woodrum, Ben Spencer and Alex Spencer, a great-great-grandson, Beau Garrett; and a sister, Versie Lawhorn of Liberty.

She was preceded in death by five siblings, Dorothy Hafley, Alvis Wethington, Aubrey Wethington, Omer Wethington, and Franklin Wethington.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, September 3 at 1 pm at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kevin Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.

Visitation is 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
