James Alvin Scott age 84, of Liberty, KY, passed away on Wednesday February 21st, 2024, at his residence. He was born January 11th, 1940, in Casey Co., KY, a son of the late Johnnie E. and Ruth L. Cochran Scott.

James was the widower of Lillie Rose McFarland Scott who passed away on June 28th, 2021.

James was a farmer, former employee of Wolford & Wethington and Brown and Williamson Tobacco Co.

Survivors include: four children: Tina Darlene Allen of Russell Springs, Johnny Lee and (Jill) Scott of Liberty, Vicky Renee and (Paul) Barnett of Waynesburg and Michael Brent Scott of Liberty, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one brother: Lonnie Scott of IL, and three sisters: Mary Ruth Alsup, Shirley Olsen and Eva Albright all of IL.

In addition to his parents and spouse, he was preceded in death by seven brothers: Leonard, Greg, Jerry, Herman Wayne, Vernon, Larry, and Bobby Scott.

Visitation will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday February 24th, 2024, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday February 24th, 2024, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Dwight Coffman officiating. Burial will be in the Whited Cemetery.
