Donny Grider, age 75 passed away at his home on July 16, 2023. He was born May 29, 1948, in Liberty. The son of the late Ollie C. and Mabel Woodrum Grider.

Donny graduated from Casey County High School in 1967. Following graduation, he served for two years with the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam War.

He married Gwen Thompson, and they celebrated 55 years in January.

Donny was a salesman, a soil conservation board member, farmer, and a member of Middleburg Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife Gwen Thompson are his sons: Donovan Grider and Chaz Grider both of Lexington, special daughters: Anna-Larissa Diestel of Hamburg, Germany and Joy Meijneke, of the Netherlands, three brothers: David and (Margaret) Grider, Dennis and (Sharon) Grider and Jimmy and (Alta) Grider all of Liberty, two sisters: Malinda and (the late Kenny) Spaw and Teresa and (Kevin) Eads both of Liberty and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. Friday July 21st, 2023, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday July 22nd, 2023, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Larry Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Middleburg Cemetery with Military Rites performed by the Casey County Honor Guard.
