Donald Garner Williams was born on August 18 ^th , 1931 in Mt. Olive, KY and chosen by God to go to his eternal home on May 7 ^th , 2020.

Don was known by many as a kind and gentle man with a big heart and as a brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He served, loved and provided for his family well and his life is a legacy of faithful service to his God, family, church and community. He was known as a man of strong values and a great amount of love. He loved God's creation and enjoyed hayrides on family land, looking at and checking on fields, trees and his cattle.

He graduated from the Middleburg High School in 1950 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1951. After completing basic training at Paris Island, SC he served in combat in Korea in 1951 and 1952, then served in the active USMC reserve until June 1957.

He was employed at General Electric Evendale, OH for 37 years where he retired in 1981 to continue farming in Casey County Kentucky on a full-time basis.

He served in church leadership as a deacon and elder at Mt. Olive Christian Church. He was a member of Middleburg Masonic Lodge #594.

He is preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Kathleen C. Williams, his twin brother Ronald Williams, his parents Marvice and Zettie Williams, his sisters Clarice Floyd, Alline Luttrell, Hazel Bennett and his brother's Frank, Ernest, Reed, Cleo and David Williams.

He is survived by his sister Florence Plemmons of Clinton, TN, his son James Williams of Savannah, GA, and daughter Donna Archibald of Lancaster, OH and their spouses Cheryl Martin Williams and Matthew Archibald, his grandchildren, Jennifer and Donnie Williams and Ben, Luke, Lydia, Miriam, Aaron and Sam Archibald as well as many extended family members.

Due to efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19 and recent requirements implemented by the Office of Governor Andy Beshear and The Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky, all funeral services will be performed privately.
Rev. Greg Powell officiating. Burial will be in the Salyers Cemetery.
